Performer Interest FAQ

Thank you for showing interest in performing Behold the Lamb in 2017.  Below are some commonly asked questions about joining the performance.

How can I learn more information about the event?  Check our our about page, and then simply contact the directors - Phil & Carrie Warner. (see contact information below.)

To be eligible, did I need to perform in the 2011 production?  Who can be a performer? We are hoping many of our alumni from 2011 may want to perform, but that is not a requirement.  In fact, this time around, we are hoping for parents, alumni from before 2011 and community members from our surrounding churches and community.  Overall, we're looking for 50-75 community members to join us.

Why are you asking for community involvement in this high school event? Berks Christian is committed to not living our school life in a bubble.  We know that faith formation is stronger in students when they are connected to adults.  We also know that we can't truly live our our mission unless we are living in community with those around us.  So, why invest so much time on a big musical event without involving the community?  We want to make sure that all of our programming reaches our mission of providing biblical integrated arts, mentoring, and service.

I am interested in performing as a singer.   What is the commitment?  First, you need to be available for the two day event, April 7-8.  For many community members, that means a day off from work on Friday.  Second, you will want to attend a few of our optional rehearsals.  All of the music will be sent to you and there are online videos to practice all of the music.  So that means, the real time commitment is just the event and any other rehearsals you may be able to attend. (scheduled in the evenings the three weeks prior to the event.) We recommend that all community singers have some previous experience with part singing and choral singing.  (We'll send you music to preview to see the level of music.)

Additionally, there are three optional read-throughs.

  • Monday, March 27.    6:30-7:30 PM @ Berks Christian School
  • Monday, March 30.    6:30-7:30 PM @ Berks Christian School
  • Monday, April 4.    6:30-7:30 PM @     Berks Christian School

I am interested in performing as an instrumentalist.  What instruments are needed?
Currently we need the following instrumentalists:
woodwind section: horn
brass section: trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba
percussion section: battery, aux, timpani
