Dramatic Arts "The Kings Players"

Berks Christian School's drama team, The King's Players, perform a major production every spring. Students audition for roles in the show and for positions on the Tech Crew and Stage Crew. Former drama experience is not necessary. The drama program creates an environment of team building and excellence.

Vocal Music

Chorus
Each student in K - 8th grade receives Music Appreciation each week. The elementary students present a Christmas choral musical each year. On the secondary level, there are opportunities to participate in Junior and Senior High Chorus.

Middle School Chorus
Middle School choir is a required course for the 6th to 8th graders. This choir performs three times a year at the Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, and the TCS Middle School Fine Arts Festival. The students will take part in a journey of performance, growth of musical and interpersonal skills.

High School Concert Choir
9th through 12th graders have the opportunity to sing in a large mixed choir. Throughout the year, students will increase their skills in sight reading and vocal performance. Along with the Christmas Concert and Spring Concert, the group performs in the Spring Tour. During the Spring Tour, the students will be able to perform along professional musicians. In years past, BCS, alongside CCS, took the students on tour in Pittsburgh, York, Lancaster, and Reading. The mass choir tours included Love Came Down, Behold the Lamb, and When The Night Is Gone.

Vocal Ensemble
Lead by Phil and Carrie Warner, the vocal ensemble is composed of elite musicians and singers from Berks Christian School. The group travels to many different churches and venues to perform during their winter and spring tours. Singers of all levels are encouraged to audition.

Instrumental Music

Band instrument lessons, group or individual, are available beginning in 4th grade. Beginners enter band in the Spring, and participate in the Spring concert. Elementary Band includes grades 5 and 6. High School Band includes grades 7 through 12.

Performances:

  • Christmas concert
  • Spring concert
  • Competitions and special events
  • ASCI Junior High and High School instrumental competitions
  • PMEA District 10 Band

Private lessons for piano and other musical instruments are available to students who wish to pursue them. We encourage every parent to consider music instruction for their child.  There are many benefits to be gained such as self-discipline, creative thinking, and perseverance. The lessons are given once weekly for 1/2 hour; the cost is $16 per lesson payable to the instructor.
