As you put your holiday schedule together, you should first remember that there are two Christmas concerts this year: one at BCS and one at West-Mont, our partner school in the fine arts.

BCS Concert: Tuesday, December 11 - All elementary students, along with secondary band and choir students

WCA Concert: Friday, December 14 - Secondary band and choir students (transportation will be provided to and from West-Mont for the concert; please look for the permission slip). Dress code is the same for both concerts.

Instructions for Elementary:
Please wear dressy Christmas clothes and arrive by 6:30 pm. Students in grades K through 3, report to your classroom. Students in grades 4 and 5, report to the library. After their performance, elementary students will sit with parents for the remainder of the concert.

Instructions for Middle and High School Performers:
Middle School and High School Choirs: Report at 6:30 pm to the cafeteria
Middle School and High School Bands: Report at 6:15 pm to the sanctuary
Middle School / High School Gentlemen dress code (band and choir): Black dress pants, black dress shoes, black socks, long-sleeve white dress shirt, tie (solid color or small print)
Middle School / High School Ladies dress code (band and choir): Solid white dress blouse (no sweaters or anything low cut), solid black skirt (knee length or longer, full length is preferred), black dress shoes, neutral colored nylons

Please note: MS / HS Choir and Band are performance-based classes and performances should be considered akin to a final exam. For this reason, attendance at the concerts is mandatory. Unexcused absences will result in a significant drop in the grade. Any planned absences must be in writing and submitted to the BCS office before the concerts.

OPEN MUSIC POSITION AT BCS

Berks Christian School is seeking a part time elementary music teacher to teach classes starting in January 2019 on Thursday's. A degree in music education is preferred. Applicants will be asked to provide written Christian testimony as part of the application. Elementary: Hot dog on a bun, smile potatoes, baked beans, pears
HS Hot: Bacon cheeseburger, sweet potato waffle fries, broccoli salad, melon cup
HS COLD: Chicken parm. sandwich, sweet potato waffle fries, broccoli salad, melon cup
PIZZA: Stuffed crust pizza, sweet potato waffle fries, broccoli salad, melon cup

Our next PTO meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 29 th at 6:30 in the library. Hope to see many of you there! If you’d like to be added to the email list to receive the agenda and meeting minutes, please email Cristina Urban at cristina.urban.ot@gmail.com.

Also, we have moved forward with our first fundraiser which will be an Usborne Facebook party, in which anyone interested can purchase high quality children’s books (great idea for the upcoming holiday!) and/or purchase a box of greeting high quality greeting cards. The BCS PTO will receive a portion of the proceeds. Be on the lookout for a flyer coming home with your student(s) soon.
