EVENT DETAILS

 

Berks Spring Concert, Friday May 18 @ 7 pm

Spring concert is taking place at Berks, includes 4th & 5th graders, all middle school students, all band and HS choir students. Dress code is the same for both concerts.

Instructions for all Performers:
Middle School and High School Choirs: Report at 6:30 pm to the cafeteria
Middle School and High School Bands: Report at 6:15 pm to the sanctuary

Middle School / High School Gentlemen dress code (band and choir): Black dress pants, black dress shoes, black socks, long-sleeve white dress shirt, tie (solid color or small print)
Middle School / High School Ladies dress code (band and choir): Solid white dress blouse (no sweaters or anything low cut), solid black skirt (knee length or longer, full length is preferred), black dress shoes, neutral colored nylons

Please note: MS / HS Choir and Band are performance-based classes and performances should be considered akin to a final exam. For this reason, attendance at the concerts is mandatory. Unexcused absences will result in a significant drop in the grade. Any planned absences must be in writing and submitted to the BCS office before the concerts.

Celebrate BCS Night 2018.jpg

All families & staff are invited to join us for our 9th Annual Celebrate BCS on Tuesday, May 29th. This is a time to enjoy a dinner together as a school family and then celebrate the achievements of our students from the entire year. 

The dinner will begin at 6pm. Please RSVP by Thursday, May 24th with how many members of your family will be attending. We ask that each family bring a main dish to share. Also bring a side dish (if your last name starts with A-0) or a dessert (if your last name starts with P-Z). If you want to come only for the awards ceremony that will begin at 7:15pm.

One note for families of Kindergarteners and Seniors, the awards given that night will also be repeated at their graduation ceremonies.

on Saturday in Bangor, PA. Congratulations to all our track athletes!


NEWS AND UPDATES

Please make sure your 9th-12th grade student returns their Chromebook, charger, and case by the end of the school day on Thu, June 7th (Fri, June 1st deadline for seniors). If these items aren’t promptly returned, the student will not be issued a report card and will be charged for a replacement device and case on Renweb.


FREE FIGHTIN' PHILS GAME!

The Fightin' Phils have partnered with us again this year and have given us free tickets to a baseball game. It is just around the corner, Tuesday, May 22nd!

THE WINNERS TO THROW OUT THE FIRST PITCH ARE SHAYLEE DAUB AND GRANT SEVILLE, CONGRATULATIONS!

Each student/teacher will receive 2 FREE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS to attend the May 22nd game.  If you have multiple students please call the Fightin Phils at 610-370-BALL to have them reserve and hold the tickets at will call.

Additional general admission tickets can also be purchased at a discounted price of $5 per ticket.  All you need to do is select Berks Christian School when visiting Baseballtown.org/OutstandingStudent to claim your tickets! You can also pick your tickets up that night, but the Phil's do suggest purchasing/claiming your tickets ahead of time.

Families are encouraged to arrive by 5:30pm in order to take part in the pre-game Outstanding Student activities. Each student will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with a Fightin Phils player, receive a reward medal, and have the chance to be individually recognized on stage alongside the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor.  

Lastly, for every free ticket used OR $5 ticket purchased, Capital BlueCross will donate $1 back to our school!  Along with the families of current students, anyone else that cares about Berks Christian can be directed to the Baseballtown.org/OutstandingStudent  website to get involved and help support our school. Please forward to your friends and family!

T.O.Y.S

(TOYS OF YOUR SELECTION)

Do you have old toys or stuffed animals sitting around your house? Donate them! T.O.Y.S. is a service project similar to Toys for Tots where you donate your old childhood belongings to kids who have none. All toys received will be sent to Genesis Pregnancy Care Center.
All you have to do is bring your old toys and leave them in the boxes places conveniently at school. Thank you for your cooperation! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Drew Keylor. Please have donations in by 5/25/18.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL COACH
Berks Christian School is looking for a Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach starting for the 2018 season. Coaching experience is preferred. Also, current PA child abuse, criminal background, and fingerprinting checks are required. Preseason practices begin on August 13th.

VAN DRIVER
Berks Christian School is seeking a part-time van driver for morning and afternoon pickups on our extension routes for the 2018-2019 school year.  Commitment is 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM and 2:45-3:45 PM. Pay is $9 an hour. If you are interested please email Rebekah Klase at rklase@berkschristian.org.

This week we are launching a new parent feedback form.  This form will be linked in every issue of the beat, is on the parent/student website, and linked in renweb.  We always want to hear from our parents: suggestions for improvement, requesting information, looking for help, solving a problem, or sharing positive feedback.  While you can always simply email or pick up the phone, our hope is that this form is a simple tool and constant reminder that we want to hear from you!
