Due to yesterday's snow, our Easter break is shorter by one day. Please make sure you note on your calendars that school will resume on April 4th, not April 5th as originally planned.

Tickets On Sale Now!

Seussical the Musical tickets are on sale now! Make sure to order tickets soon (contact the office if you misplaced your order form). Seats are assigned (not general admission) for this year's show so you'll want to reserve seats early.

Spring Preschool Open House Dates

Please share with your friends and neighbors about our BCS Preschool! Our best preschool referrals are from word-of-mouth, so we rely on you (whether or not you have a preschool-aged student) to help us promote the BCS Preschool. We have attached a flyer to your Beat email this week. If you know of a library, kids' center, or church lobby where you'd be permitted to post it, please print one out (or ask the office for a copy) and spread the word by posting a flyer!

Tickets now available for tomorrow's State Basketball Tournament

The Varsity Boys Basketball team will make their first appearance in the PIAA 1A State Tournament on Friday, March 9th at Central Bucks West at 7:30 pm. We would love to see a large crowd of fans to support the team in this exciting game! Pre-sale tickets are available for $6 and $3. The school receives a percentage of pre-sale tickets. If you are interested in reserving advance tickets, please send exact change to the office for Miss Klase tomorrow morning.

If a student does not have a current CIPPE on file, they may not participate in athletics. Sections 1-6 must be filled out. While Sections 1-5 may be done by a parent, Section 6 must be done by a doctor. If players have played a sport at Berks this year, you only have to have Section 7 filled out and returned. There is no doctor's signature needed for Section 7. All outstanding CIPPEs are overdue at this point. Please submit them to the office right away.

Serve-a-Thon: Reminders for this week

You may continue to turn in letters toward your family total up until May 1st. We also need to receive the yellow Parent Agreement Form, and the green Student Permission Form (you can put all of your kids' names on one permission form) immediately, if you have not turned it in yet. If you are planning to go along as a volunteer on Serve-a-Thon day and haven't turned in your Parent Volunteer Form, please submit it to the office right away.

Additionally, if you would like to take advantage of the Spanish version of our sponsorship letters this year, or if you need more English letters, please contact Mrs Bromwell or the school office.

Families Needed to Host Students

welcome home.jpg

We would love for you to prayerfully consider whether or not you could help in one of these ways (or might know someone who could).

1) We are looking for host families who might be interested in hosting a student for the 18/19 school year as we prepare for next year. Host families are given a stipend of $650 per month to cover general costs of housing a student. The main requirements for hosting are being a Christian family, providing a bedroom with bed/desk/closet/dresser, and making sure the student gets 3 meals a day. During this time of year, applications for next school year are beginning to come in, so although we do not yet know the final count of homes that are needed, we're trying to be proactive in lining up the needed host families ahead of time!

2) From time to time it is helpful to have families willing to serve as "back-up" host families (for example if a host family has a multi-day trip planned or an emergency takes place within the family). We are working on compiling a list of families interested in serving in this way.

If you have any questions about hosting or would like more information, please contact Carrie Warner at cwarner@berkschristian.org. Please pass this info along to anyone else you know who might be able to serve in any of these ways. Thanks so much for your consideration.

Haven't Tried AmazonSmile Yet?

amazon smile 2.jpg

We need you to give it a spin! For every Amazon user who buys something via AmazonSmile for the first time between March 12 and March 31, Berks Christian School will receive triple the usual donation amount. That's 1.5% of your total purchase instead of the usual .5%. If you're making purchases for your home, as gifts, or even for your workplace, please consider using smile.amazon.com instead of the original site. There's nothing different in how you order items or check out. You'll just choose Berks Christian School to receive a portion of your purchase.

For Prayer This Week...

prayer theme.jpg

This week, pray for our administrative team. Specifically, pray the following:

 - Pray for wisdom in decision making for our administrative team: Phil Warner, Rebekah Klase, Ben Smither, Kody Godsey, Beth Bromwell, and Brittany Mountz.

 - Pray that God would continue to direct us to the tasks and initiatives that would make our community stronger.

 - Pray for a unified spirit of love as we work with our families, teachers, and the broader community.
