Spring Preschool Open House Dates

Please share with your friends and neighbors about our BCS Preschool! Our best preschool referrals are from word-of-mouth, so we rely on you (whether or not you have a preschool-aged student) to help us promote the BCS Preschool. We have attached a flyer to your Beat email this week. If you know of a library, kids' center, or church lobby where you'd be permitted to post it, please print one out (or ask the office for a copy) and spread the word by posting a flyer!

re-enrollment banner.jpg

It's re-enrollment season at BCS! Please take some time to review your packet and re-enroll as soon as you can. The deadline for the most affordable rate is March 31st!

Serve-a-Thon: Reminders for this week

You have just five days to return your first batch of letters! Remember that if you're aiming to earn discounted re-enrollment, you must return at least 30 letters by March 6th. (We can accept letters toward your family total up until May 1st.) We also need to receive the yellow Parent Agreement Form, and the green student permission form (you can put all of your kids' names on one permission form) by March 6th.

Additionally, if you would like to take advantage of the Spanish version of our sponsorship letters this year, please contact Mrs Bromwell or the school office.

A change to our technology policy for MS students

In order to help our Middle School students grow in becoming digital citizens and grow in maturity in their digital interactions, we have changed the email policy for them.

Effective this week, MS students no longer have the ability to send email messages through our system to anyone except our staff. This will help them stay more focused during study hall times and avoid the temptation of excessive emailing with friends. If you have any questions about this policy change, feel free to contact Mr Warner.

Middle School Tutoring Available

Our 10th grade Student Council Representative continues to offer tutoring for middle school students each Monday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. If you would like your middle school student to attend tutoring, please email each Monday to attendance@berkschristian.org.

Families Needed to Host Students

welcome home.jpg

We would love for you to prayerfully consider whether or not you could help in one of these ways (or might know someone who could).

1) There is an immediate need for a host family for one of our exchange students from March 1 until the end of this school year (June 7). Host families are given a stipend of $650 per month to cover general costs of housing a student. The main requirements for hosting are being a Christian family, providing a bedroom with bed/desk/closet/dresser, and making sure the student gets 3 meals a day. For more details about this immediate need, please email cwarner@berkschristian.org

2) We are also looking for host families who might be interested in hosting a student for the 18/19 school year as we prepare for next year. The same requirements listed above would apply. During this time of year, applications for next school year are beginning to come in, so although we do not yet know the final count of homes that are needed, we're trying to be proactive in lining up the needed host families ahead of time!

3) Lastly, from time to time it is helpful to have families willing to serve as "back-up" host families (for example if a host family has a multi-day trip planned or an emergency takes place within the family). We are working on compiling a list of families interested in serving in this way.

If you have any questions about hosting or would like more information, please feel free to ask! Please pass this info along to anyone else you know who might be able to serve in any of these ways. Thanks so much for your consideration.

Haven't Tried AmazonSmile Yet?

amazon smile 2.jpg

We need you to give it a spin! For every amazon user who buys something via amazonsmile for the first time between March 12 and March 31, Berks Christian School will receive triple the usual donation amount. That's 1.5% of your total purchase instead of the usual .5%. If you're making purchases for your home, as gifts, or even for your workplace, please consider using smile.amazon.com instead of the original site. There's nothing different in how you order items or check out. You'll just choose Berks Christian School to receive a portion of your purchase.

Urgent Need for a Violinist

We are in need of a violinist for our upcoming play, Seussical the Musical. If you know someone who can play and would enjoy the experience of joining the pit orchestra for this show, please direct them to contact Mrs Warner at cwarner@berkschristian.org.
