Next Week: Field Day and Marathon Day

We will be having Field Day on Thursday, June 1st during the afternoon and Marathon Day on Friday, June 2nd in the morning. These annual special events involve the entire school.

Students in grades 1st - 11th have been split into 2 teams: gold and maroon. A sheet with this information was sent home on Monday. If you received a gold sheet, your student is on the gold team. If you received a maroon sheet, your student is on the maroon team.

The students may wear modest shorts (girls' shorts must be at least fingertip length) and a t-shirt in their team color (either gold or maroon) on Thursday and Friday. Shades of red and yellow are acceptable. If you do not have a school "Spirit Wear" t-shirt in the right color, any other appropriate shirt is ok (no tank tops or sleeveless are allowed). Any student who is not dressed appropriately will be required to change. Thank you!

Hallways of Hope Scholarship

It's our third year offering the unique Hallways of Hope Scholarship Program and we're excited about making it possible for some new families to join our BCS community who would be otherwise unable to do so. The scholarship is for newly enrolling families with significant financial need who are suggested by a current member of the BCS community. You'll receive a flyer about this special program today or tomorrow, via your student.

Refer a Friend

Don't forget about our referral discounts! Do you have a friend who's still on the fence about their family's schooling decision for next year? Please invite him or her to contact the school office for an educational consultation. If you refer a friend, neighbor, coworker, or anyone else you know, and they enroll, you will get a discount on your tuition, and so will the new family. Refer-a-Friend post cards will be sent home this week. Give one to someone you know!

Bus Driver Needed

We are looking for someone who would be willing to become a certified bus driver for next school year. A training class at the BCIU is July 24 and 25,  8:00 am - 4:15 pm. If you are interested please email Rebekah Klase (rklase@berkschristian.org). Bus drivers are asked to drive for one field trip per month and one sporting event per week (this is approximate depending on the time of year). Bus drivers are paid a stipend per event that they drive.

Act Now for Religious Liberty

This month the PA Human Resource Commission (PHRC) has introduced guidance that would effectively redefine sex discrimination (which is already in the law) as sexual identity and gender identity discrimination. This would be a significant challenge to our school's religious mission to families, facilities, and employment. We are asking you to go to the ACSIPA Voter Voice Link produced by our ACSI Leadership and let the Commission and your legislators know that this will threaten our school's mission at: www.votervoice.net/ACSI/campaigns/52655/respond. You can also find a recorded webinar on this topic and other helpful materials at acsipa.org.

Fun in the Enchanted Forest

Our juniors and seniors had an enchanting time at this year's Banquet, themed as an Enchanted Forest. Each year, the junior class organizes the Junior / Senior Banquet as a social event for the upperclassmen, choosing and implementing a fun theme.
