Progress Toward Our Goal
We're inching ever closer toward our goal of sending out 3,000 sponsorship letters. So far 2,445 letters have been collected and mailed. For reaching a total of 2,200 letters, we've earned ice cream for the whole school which will be served on Monday, 5/1/17.
Please contact Mrs Bromwell if you need more letters! And don't forget that you can submit sponsorship requests via email by using this email webpage we've set up. There is plenty of time to be in the running for our three big prizes, awarded to the three families who submit the most letters. Prizes are $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place. You must submit at least 50 letters and have them submitted by FRIDAY, APRIL 28 (TOMORROW!) at 3:00 pm in order to be eligible for these prizes. Winners will be announced at Celebrate BCS Night.

Boost the Boosters
Berks Christian Athletic Boosters is partnering with the Exeter Youth Soccer Association for the upcoming spring soccer season (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from mid-April through June). Exeter Youth Soccer Association uses the BCS field for these events and boosters will be selling concessions here at BCS during all youth soccer events. We are looking for an individual who would be willing to head up concession sales at these events. We will also need plenty of additional volunteers to help out. All proceeds will go towards the Athletic Program. Please contact Athletic Director Kody Godsey (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are willing to lead in this area.
7th-12th Grade Girls Volleyball Open Gym
Miss Klase will be hosting a volleyball open gym tomorrow, Friday, April 28th from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Even if you haven't played volleyball but are interested for next year feel free to come. Please email Miss Klase (email@example.com) if you plan to come. If you are not on the track team you may stay after school to work on homework until the open gym starts.
PMEA Elementary Band & Orchestra Fest: April 28
Representing BCS in the PMEA Elementary Band and Orchestra Festival is our fifth grader, Nate, playing Alto Saxophone. This event is held in Kutztown and showcases the instrumental talents of the best students from schools in a three county area. A guest conductor works with the students for several hours on music they have practiced before hand. A string orchestra and a band concert are performed that evening. Contact Mr Rappoldt (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you'd like more details.
Art and Chemistry Event
This semester, BCS chemistry students teamed up with professional artists in a unique and fascinating interdisciplinary project. As a culmination of this partnership, out students will be hosting an Art and Chemistry Event on Sunday, May 21 from 3:00-4:00 pm at the Goggleworks Ceramics Lab. Family and friends are invited to see a display of a variety of art works and hear BCS chemistry students explain some of the chemistry involved in making them. Refreshments will be provided.
Celebrate BCS Night: Coming Soon!
All families & staff are invited to join us for our 8th Annual Celebrate BCS on Tuesday, May 23rd. BCS Middle School Visits the Reading Public Museum
The Reading Public Museum is hosting the Berks Christian School middle school in honor of the late Dave Zerbe who recently passed away on April 9, 2017.
The Zerbe family requested a donation be made to Berks Christian School (in lieu of flowers) where Chad Zerbe, son of Dave Zerbe, serves as the Board President. The Museum offered to host the entire school in Zerbe’s Honor. Zerbe founded Dave Zerbe Studio of Photography in 1977 and served the community for the past 39 years. The Studio served as The Museum’s preferred photographer for the past three years.
We are very excited for this visit tomorrow and grateful to The Reading Public Museum for this gift to our students.

Food is a blessing from God that we can take for granted. We are choosing to work with Hope Rescue Mission because they truly are a God centered organization, with a God centered vision! We are called by Jesus to serve others. We should love, care, help, give, and serve others just as Jesus Christ did for all of us."
Bins to drop off food donations will be located in the main lobby as well as in the gymnasium from April 28th through May 18th. All donations will be donated to Hope Rescue Mission.
