News and Updates
Uniform Policy Reminder
As we head into warmer weather, we want to remind students of a few key dress code policies.
1. For girls in ALL GRADES, skirts and jumpers must meet the knee. Girls wearing shorter lengths will be asked to change and if a suitable pair of pants cannot be found in our Swap Closet, a parent will be called to bring an alternative outfit.
2. For students in ALL GRADES, sweatshirts worn during the school day must be solid color (no pattern, design, text, picture, or graphic) or must be BCS spirit wear. Sweatshirts, hoodies, etc that do not adhere to this guideline will be taken from the student and kept in the office until day's end.
3. To help you out, we are submitting another order for polos and spirit wear. The order form was attached to your Beat email this week, and can also be accessed here (you must access this file through a BCS email address).
Middle School Tutoring
One of our high school students offers tutoring every Monday from 3:00 - 4:45 for any middle school students who would like help with homework, studying, or organization. Any Monday that a 6th-8th grader that would like to stay please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember to re-enroll by March 31st if you want to pay the lowest re-enrollment price. Also remember that all returning families (that's you!) who are interested in financial aid must apply for aid by April 30th. You can apply for aid here.
Standardized Testing: April 10 - 12
We will be doing our annual standardized testing on April 10th - 12th. The TerraNova 3 Testing is done with Association of Christian Schools International and CTB/McGraw-Hill. TerraNova is a series of standardized achievement tests used in the United States designed to assess K-12 student achievement in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, vocabulary, and spelling. We would ask that you do not schedule appointments that would cause your student to miss school during the three testing days.

A Call for Performers
Dear Alumni, Staff, Parents, and Friends of Berks Christian School,
This spring, Berks Christian School is reviving a production of Behold the Lamb, a large-scale work for choir, soloists, and chamber wind ensemble that was written for our school and first performed in 2011. This is a multi-movement work detailing the passion story written by Pittsburgh-based composer Chris Massa
This year, April 6-8, we will be performing the work twice and creating a professional recording.
We want this to be a community event, and are looking for adult singers and performers to join our high school performers. Did you sing in the 2011 production? Do you enjoy singing choral music? Do you play a woodwind, percussion, or brass instrument?
To learn more, visit our performer interest page and event page at the BCS website. To show your interest, and to receive more detailed information, please contact Phil Warner by emailing email@example.com.
