Track Season Begins
The BCS Athletic Department is excited to announce that our new track coach is Daniel Klase. He graduated from BCS in 2011 and holds the high jump, triple jump, and javelin record here. He then competed on NCAA Division I Liberty University's track team. He is in their top 10 of all-time javelin throwers.
Varsity Track begins on Monday, March 6th for all athletes who are not involved in the play (cast, stage crew, tech crew, etc.). Middle School Track and Varsity Track for all play members begins on March 20th. Practice will be from 3:00 - 5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The meet and practice schedule is on the athletic website (access it here). All athletes who HAVE participated in a sport for BCS this year must have a Re-certification Form on file before they can participate in track. All athletes who HAVE NOT participated in a sport for BCS this year must complete a CIPPEE filled out before they can participate.
Please direct all Serve-a-Thon related questions to Mrs Bromwell. You can email her at email@example.com, or you can reach her by calling the school office on Wednesdays (the day she works on campus).

Standardized Testing: April 10 - 12
We will be doing our annual standardized testing on April 10th - 12th. The TerraNova 3 Testing is done with Association of Christian Schools International and CTB/McGraw-Hill. TerraNova is a series of standardized achievement tests used in the United States designed to assess K-12 student achievement in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, vocabulary, and spelling. We would ask that you do not schedule appointments that would cause your student to miss school during the three testing days.
The cast of this year's dramatic production, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, are deep in rehearsal and preparation. We are looking forward to a fantastic show coming up in March. It's not too early to reserve your tickets! Set Building will take place at the school on Saturday 8:30am - 2:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come help out! It counts towards service hours for students. Email Rebekah Klase (firstname.lastname@example.org) if planning on coming.

A Call for Performers
Dear Alumni, Staff, Parents, and Friends of Berks Christian School,
This spring, Berks Christian School is reviving a production of Behold the Lamb, a large-scale work for choir, soloists, and chamber wind ensemble that was written for our school and first performed in 2011. This is a multi-movement work detailing the passion story written by Pittsburgh-based composer Chris Massa
This year, April 6-8, we will be performing the work twice and creating a professional recording.
We want this to be a community event, and are looking for adult singers and performers to join our high school performers. Did you sing in the 2011 production? Do you enjoy singing choral music? Do you play a woodwind, percussion, or brass instrument?
To learn more, visit our performer interest page and event page at the BCS website. To show your interest, and to receive more detailed information, please contact Phil Warner by emailing email@example.com.
