Physics Family Fun Day

Coming on February 3rd is our Physics Family Fun Day. High School Physics students will be presenting interactive presentations and contests for our 2nd through 5th grade students. This will introduce the students to Newton's Laws in a hands-on and memorable way. We are looking for 5 - 7 elementary parent volunteers to come in the morning (approximately between 8:45 and 11:00) to help with this special event. Please contact Mr. Warner (by emailing pwarner@berkschristian.org) if you can help us!

Serve-a-Thon is Coming!

We're gearing up for our big spring event, Serve-a-Thon! To get started, we are looking for a key team of volunteers to coordinate this school-wide fundraising and service event. Will you consider being part of this important team? Mrs Bromwell is looking for the following positions:
 - Elementary Classroom Coordinator
 - Site Coordinator
If you are interested in getting involved in one of these roles, please contact Mrs Bromwell by emailing bbromwell@berkschristian.org.

Ready, Set, Go!

Do you know a family who has a preschool or kindergarten aged child? Invite them to our Ready, Set, Go! event coming up in February! Learn why childhood education is important and how you can set your child up for success in school. Two events are planned, one on February 1st at 3:00 pm and one on February 16th at 6:30 pm. A giveaway of one $50 Gift Card will be available to prospective families and to current BCS families who bring a prospective family along. Childcare is provided! Please RSVP by emailing rklase@berkschristian.org or by calling the school office.

Featured Book: Through Gates of Splendor

Think missionary stories are boring? Think again. The BCS Library has just added a large collection of classic missionary stories to the catalog and our high school students have been finding out how faith-strengthening it can be to read the story of a Christian missionary.

In Through Gates of Splendor, the story of Jim Elliot and his fellow missionaries who took the gospel message to Ecuador in the 1950s, men and women leave all comfort behind in order to give up their lives for the sake of telling others about the salvation of Jesus. It's exciting and yes, it's sad. But ultimately it's an example of prioritizing the message of Christ above even our own next breath. If you haven't read a missionary story, take the opportunity to read one of the library's new items. You'll be glad you did!
