High School Leadership Conference

Calling all HS students to join thousands of other students from Christian Schools November 20-22 in Washington D.C.!

You have an opportunity to join thousands of other students from Christian Schools at this year's ACSI Redemption Everyday Conference. The Redemption Everyday Conference is an annual leadership event for Christian high school students about God's story of creation, our fall into sin, and God's redemption and restoration for all of life. From the framework that is built on this story, we will focus on the purpose of our salvation within our culture. During the re:Purpose conference, keynote speakers will explore typical responses toward the quickly changing culture, and present a biblical alternative. We will dive deeper into the purpose of justice, family, work, beauty, wisdom, and church to see how our salvation is intended for the life of the world in each of these spheres. Students walk away from the conference energized and united, poised to make a difference in their world, community, church, school, and home. Learn more about the conference here. Applications were given to all HS students today, space is limited to 8 students so apply early! Applications are due Wednesday October 5th. Cost for trip is $250 which includes conference fees, hotel room, meals, and travel.

Middle School Leadership Conference

Coming November 2 in Philadelphia: The One-Day Middle School Leadership Conference

A generation of young people relying on their identity in Christ are rising up against injustices, using their gifts to influence their peers, and impacting the world with the good news of Jesus. It begins now. It is time to live and love loudly.

Based on Jesus' example and rooted in the book of 1 John, students will examine what sort of influence a follower of Jesus can have in a society that seems to be running in the opposite direction. Through challenges and encouragement, hope will expand, and students will begin to explore ways a generation of young people can impact individuals, society and the world with the love of Christ.

There is nothing like the OneDay experience to empower students at your school to impact lives now, while establishing long-term paths for influence and impact.

Come Together Event for Families

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 12. As a centerpiece of our efforts to partner and equip parents, we are hosting AXIS for a full day-family event entitled Come Together. This is an opportunity middle school and high school parents will not want to miss. Registration for this event is required - be looking for the link to sign up in next week's Beat. We will be opening this event to the community, but prioritizing BCS families first. Plan to sign up next week!

Come Together is comprised of six thirty-five minute sessions, and a lunch session, all designed to resource families and encourage them to tackle cultural issues through a biblical worldview. Axis presents content in a way that is relevant and thought-provoking by traveling in teams of four and using an array of media to show the timeless truths of Christianity in an ever changing world. By navigating where our habits come from, how we derive ideas, and the effects of our community, families are encouraged to look at what is driving their life and how they can leave a legacy of hope to the next generation.

If the lock is not inside the locker, two strikes will be tallied.

Open Your Home for Ten Weeks?

From January 6th through March 15th, five students from Asia will be attending Berks Christian School for a short-term cross-cultural experience. Five host families are needed for this program and host families will earn a stipend.

Hosting a teenager from across the globe is an excellent experience for your family and also provides you the opportunity to share the gospel of Christ with a student who may not know anything about Jesus. It's a short-term commitment, and a perfect way to try out the hosting experience, if you've considered hosting a student for a whole year but aren't sure what to expect. Our school also reaps big benefits from having these students in our community for a few months. If you can open your home to a student this winter, please contact Rebekah Klase by emailing rklase@berkschristian.org.
