Grandparents Day: November 23rd
Make sure your grandparents save the date! November 23rd, a half-day of school, is our annual Grandparents Day. We are looking forward to this event and have some great activities planned. We also have a need for families to sign up to bring along snacks for our morning social time with the grandparents. If you can help, please sign up here.
Grandparents will be receiving invitations in the mail from their grandkids, so if the grandparents in your family have moved, or if you're a new family to BCS this year, please email Miss Klase (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the appropriate addresses.
Middle School Retreat
On this coming Thursday, October 27th, our entire Middle School will be spending the day at Camp Manatawny for our annual Spiritual Life Retreat. Trevor Oates, youth pastor at Birdsboro Church of the Nazarene, will be speaking to students for the day. All sixth through eighth graders should bring a Bible, a pen, a packed lunch, and a snack to share. Dress is casual, but time will be spent outdoors so make sure to dress for the weather! Students will return to BCS to be picked up by parents at 9:00 pm.
News and Updates
First Quarter has Ended
Grades will be finalized and report cards should be finished on Monday. Be on the lookout to receive report cards Monday or Tuesday.
New: Penalty for Excessive Referral to Homework Flex
Starting second quarter, students in grades 6 through 12 who accumulate 10 or more homework flex referrals will be assigned a detention. This works the same way as tardies. You'll receive a warning after five homework flex referrals, and then an immediate detention when you hit your tenth one. You'll receive additional detentions for every additional five homework flex referrals you accrue.
Kids Kreations: Almost Time to Order
A few weeks ago we mentioned a brand-new fundraiser coming this fall. Kids Kreations gives you the chance to order products with your students' hand-designed art. Student art has been completed and submitted to the Kids Kreations facility for scanning. You'll be receiving a flyer in the next week or so that shows the tote bags, phone covers, mousepads, blankets, aprons, jewelry, and much more that all feature your child's unique piece of artwork. Prices are reasonable and a portion of each purchase comes directly to BCS as a donation. Stock up for Christmas and birthday gifts!

Library Volunteers Needed
Our Library continues to grow in size and its use. We need a few volunteers who would give an hour or two a month to our library to help restock books, put new books and materials into circulation and to keep the shelves organized. We'll do the training if you have the interest. Contact Phil Warner if you can lend a hand minding the books! email@example.com.
